First appears in Gloucester in 1678, when he had a grant of two acres of land at Eastern Point, where he built a house. He was a mariner, and owned a sloop which he probably employed in coasting. It is certain that he died before June, 1707; perhaps at sea, as in the settlement of his estate, no charges are made for sickness or funeral expenses. The inventory of his property amounted to 278 pounds.
