It is posible that Valentine's parents were Quakers. Valentine removed to Ireland after the death of his wife. Mary was 16 years when he emigrated from Belfast, Ireland in 1682. They set up their banner at "New Wark." Valentine gave land for a meeting-house and burial ground. The meeting-house was log, built in 1689. He owned 986 acres total. He named his land New Wark for his wife's homeland, Parish of Wark, in Northumberland, England, not far from Cheshire. He was org. a servant.
