Abigail was a cousin of Millard Fillmore, the 13th President of the United States. She came to Nova Scotia with her parents not later than 1763. The Farm where Charles and Abigail settled (that of Joseph D. Wells) is across from Jolicure Pioneer Cemetery. According to their stones Abigail died five hours before Charles. In "Early Settlers of Cumberland Township" by Louise Walsh Throop (p. 191), Charles Oulton, husband of Abigail Fillmore, is cited to "prob." be the son of JOHN and CHARITY OULTON!
