Fred was brough up in Swampscott, graduated from Swampscott H.S. and attended the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Art School. There, he met Nancy Knowles. They took up residence in Marblehead where ther had their two sons. He worked at the Spaulding Company, a graphic arts company in Boston, and painted in his spare time. Best friends included Dave Post and Carl Topp (after which Fred's son, Carl, was named). Brown hair and eyes.
